Height: 30 to 40 feet
Size of crown: 7-10 feet
Cultural requirements and other comments: This palm thrives in well-watered areas with organic matter and does not tolerate much drought. Actinorhytis is known for its beautiful, feathery leaves and almost circular, recurved fronds and is often used as a Betel Nut Palm substitute. Its height falls between the smaller Manila Palm and the much larger Carpentaria. It grows quickly to maturity and sports large attractive red fruit. A working irrigation system is a must if grown in Kona.
