| Cultural requirements and other comments: This palm from
northeastern Australia grows naturally as an under story palm in dense rainforests at higher elevations. L. australasica
is usually found as clumping but can also grow as a solitary-trunked palm. The leaves are pinnate and slightly erect, with the
new leaves having a maroon color. Partial shade, adequate moisture, humidity and protection from wind are ideal growing
requirements. |
