1. N. storckii
Height: up to 50 feet
Size of Crown: 15-18 feet
Cultural requirements and other comments: This palm can be visually appealing, with its large, vertical twisting leaves. The leaflets are deep green and broad. The most appealing aspects of this palm are the black crownshaft which contrasts nicely with the light brown trunk, green leaves and cream colored flower stalks and orange fruit. A real landscaping beauty, it has similarities with Dictyosperma, Veitchia, and the Coconut Palm. This palm grows best with plenty of water and some shade when it is young but tolerates full sun at maturity.
