P. acuminata var. montana (Mountain Cabbage Palm)
Height: up to up to 50 feet
Size of Crown: 4-8 feet |
| Cultural requirements and other comments: This palm is sometimes
called the Cabbage Palm of Puerto Rico. It is a solitary-trunked specimen with pinnate leaves. It occurs naturally at lower
elevations where moisture levels are high. To plant this palm in Kona would be an experiment, as none have been planted here
that we know of. |
