A genus of seven palmate monoecious palms from the Caribbean basin. Similar to Coccothrinax, except that Thrinax have split leaf bases and white fruit. In well-drained soils, they will do well under harsh conditions and poor soils and need to be in the full sun from an early age.

Cultural requirements and other comments: Very similar to T. parviflora, with similar tolerances to wind and salt and a suitable size for a residential planting.
